Dan Schwartz - Broker/Salesperson

Dan Schwartz received his Real Estate Broker designation in 1967 in California making him one of the youngest brokers in Northern California at that time. He added his Nevada Real Estate Broker designation in 1974 and his passion for real estate remains as strong today, 40 years later. Having grown up in the Bay Area, Dan spent his summers at Lake Tahoe and decided to make it his home in 1974 where he became the founder and Broker of Tanager Realty. Working side-by-side with partner and step-daughter Tawny Stanton, Tanager grew into the most lucrative independent real estate firm in Incline Village/Crystal Bay having focused energy and resources on service, education and marketing.

Being a Broker of Tanager Realty was just the beginning for Dan. As a Principal of Schwartz-Stanton Group with partner Tawny Stanton, Dan has been servicing his clients in the sale and acquisition of luxury and distinctive real estate in Incline Village and Crystal Bay for over 32 years. In July 2006, Dan and Tawny merged Tanager Realty with Coldwell Banker Incline Village Realty making the blending of the two firms the powerhouse leader in the real estate community blending local expertise and superior client service with global marketing reach.

While real estate remains Dan's business passion, outside of real estate his life focuses on his family, horses, Border Collies and riding the Tahoe Rim Trail.

Tawny Stanton began her business career as an industrial engineer specializing in robotics engineering and later earned an MBA from University of California at Pepperdine. She parlayed her education into a successful business career spanning marketing, sales and finance. It didn't stop there for Tawny however, as she then became a specialist in business management consulting with the Value Added Group of The Geneva Companies in Southern California, a professional experience she found most rewarding.

With real estate as the family business, Tawny Stanton returned home to Incline Village over 10 years ago and began her real estate career as a licensed Realtor under Dan's mentoring. Within four years she earned the right to be a principal of Schwartz-Stanton Group and co-owner of Tanager Realty. She has never looked back. Tawny's engineering and business backgrounds bring a specialized service to her clients and those of Schwartz-Stanton Group. Tawny and Dan have a staff of three licensed Realtors and a marketing manager and share a business philosophy to maintain a patented standard of perfection and quality in their business and service to their clients.

When not servicing her clients, Tawny takes advantage of the Tahoe lifestyle and enjoys skiing, beach volleyball, hiking, boating, mountain biking and sharing her life with family, friends and her chocolate lab Morgan.

Melanie Stewart is originally from the East Coast where she started her career in the service industry.  After moving from NYC to the West Coast, she found a job in property management in Stockton, CA.  There she was the assistant manager for Venetial Bridges, a job that consisted of overseeing both an office and maintenance staff of about 10 employees and the day-to-day operations of 354 apartments and 20 commercial units.  During this period, Melanie also spent time traveling around the country as a liaison to Equity Management, the parent company for Venetial Bridges.  Working with this firm Melanie was given the responsibility of bringing newly acquired management offices and personnel up to the level Equity required.  In 2003, Melanie decided to move to Lake Tahoe and by 2004 she was a licensed sales person working with Schwartz-Stanton Group.

Melanie is very hard working, responsible individual.  Her attention to detail combined with the skills she has obtained from her professional background make her perfect for this line of work.

I'm a Southern California native and UCLA graduate living in snow country. My husband and I still get crazy looks from family and friends amazed that we still love our Tahoe life. Our response is... "What's not to love - a beautiful lake, four wonderful seasons and a sense of community."

Prior to our making the move to Tahoe, I spent my professional life in LA's corporate real estate world. I spent those corporate years marketing major shopping centers and mixed used developments in addition to managing Class A high rise office towers.

Shortly upon moving to Incline Village I met and began working with Dan Schwartz and Tawny Stanton, principals of the Schwartz-Stanton Group, and I haven't looked back. Working with them for more than a decade as their marketing manager and now business manager has been very rewarding both professionally and personally.

Elizabeth Tuoto moved to Incline Village in 1987 after studying Civil Engineering at U of A/Alaska and Architecture at MSU/Montana.  As a serious competitor in cross country skiing both nationally and internationally, Elizabeth made Incline Village her home because of the packed winter sports competition schedule, myriad ski areas to choose from, and the area's natural beauty.  She currently owns a horse ranch with her husband and is an avid Three-Day-Eventer.

In addition to her affiliation with Schwartz-Stanton Group, Elizabeth is the office manager of a real estate development and property management firm, a position she had held for the past 11 years.  In addition, she is a licensed Realtor in Nevada and specializes in luxury residential properties and commercial projects.  Elizbeth's professional background has given her the opportunity to work first hand with many of the region's governmental agencies including the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, Army Corps of Engineers and various building and construction divisions within Washoe County.

I grew up in the Bay Area and spent most of my weekends skiing and boating at Lake Tahoe.  I attended St. Mary's College in Moraga, CA and earned an MBA in Business Management from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.  Always a business owner, I owned and operated Chevron Gas Stations in Walnut Creek, CA and eventually moved to Phoenix in 1998 to build and operate additional stations.  In addition, I began investing in real estate and came to love the real estate business.

I became a homeowner in Incline Village in 2000 and eventually sold my businesses to pursue my interest in real estate.  In addition to residential real estate, I am also a commerical agent specializing in gas stations.  I am licensed in the states of Nevada, California and Arizona.

My wife Cara and my 2-year-old daughter, Savannah, love living and working in Incline Village and appreciate it's small town, friendly feel.  The beauty of this place never gets old for us.

Joyce was born and raised in Taiwan.  She earned her B.A. in English Literature and Languages from Providence University in Taichung.  As part of her curriculum she studied at Saint Mary of the Woods College in Indiana for one year.  After graduation she became an English instructor and she also led summer study groups for Taiwan students to England, Canada and the U.S.

Her business experience includes the family manufacturing business in Taiwan, as well as writing and recording English learning podcast programs.  Additionally, Joyce has designed and was in charge of all marketing pieces for Eastern Sun International Trading Co.

Joyce and her husband fell in love with Incline Village while vacationing here in 2003.  Along with her daughter, Shannon, they now maintain residences both in Incline Village and Taiwan.  Joyce feels her business experience, language skills and international exposure are a perfect fit with the Schwartz-Stanton Group global marketing focus.

Terri moved from the San Francisco Bay Area to Incline Village, Lake Tahoe over 20 years ago.  Soon after her arrival she launched her real estate career.  It was a tremendous success and very gratifying, but eventually Terri and her husband made the decision to move to Reno to raise a family.
